Jill is a self-taught musician whose passion for music was evident as a toddler when she became known for belting Judy Garland songs into a barely-amplified spoon. When she was six, the introduction of a piano into the home revealed she had a knack for playing without sheet music ("by ear") and by her early teens she began composing her own material.
"A Tale of Two Cities", her first musical, enjoyed a sold-out world premiere production at the historic Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, Florida in 2007.
Jill has been awarded fellowship grants from the states of New Jersey and Florida for her work on "A Tale of Two Cities". The score of the musical received its concert premiere at the Circle Theatre in Indianapolis with a 40-piece orchestra and narration by Richard Kiley. The concert was produced and directed by Jill's brother, Alex Santoriello, who also co-produced the original concept recording of the show.
"A Tale of Two Cities" was a finalist in the International Musical of the Year Competition where the song "If Dreams Came True" was a best song finalist.
Jill is a Carr Van Anda honors graduate of the Ohio University School of Journalism. She is also an alumna of the prestigious BMI and ASCAP Musical Theater Workshops. Prior to the premiere production of "Tale", Jill spent over a decade in original programming at Showtime Networks.
